From Religious Persecution to Successful Lawyer: Stephen John

Religious persecution forced Stephen to flee his home country, Pakistan in 2008. In Pakistan, Stephen trained as a successful lawyer which continued once he arrived in Australia. 

Despite the difficult transition into Australia, Stephen didn’t stop pursuing his goals. He completed his postgraduate degree at Sydney University and went to the University of Technology Sydney for his Juris Doctor. After intense studying, Stephen was able to practise law in August 2017. 

Working in law firms wasn’t enough for Stephen. He wanted to own his own practice. With Thrive’s mentorship and business financing, Stephen was able to open his own practice, Stephen John Lawyers. Today, Stephen is the Principal Solicitor at Stephen John Lawyers and continues to help his clients every day.
