Who funds Thrive?
Thrive is funded by generous donations and grants given to us by private donors who believe in the Thrive vision.
Why does Thrive only provide financial assistance for refugees and asylum seekers?
Due to their visa conditions and lack of credit history, as such, our objective is to support our clients who do not qualify from financial assistance with regular banks and financial institutions in Australia.
Is Thrive Government supported?
Thrive has been proudly supported by the Department of Home Affairs as well as many generous private donors.
Are you Westpac Bank?
No, Thrive is not a bank. Westpac supports Thrive by providing the funds to enable is to provide financial support to our clients. These funds will need to be paid back to Westpac.
Do you provide relocation services/accommodation for refugees?
No, we don’t. Thrive provides business ideas, support, mentorship and financial assistance to refugees and asylum seekers so that they can lead to self-employment/starting a business or expanding businesses.

How can I apply for business financial support?
You can apply for a financial support by visiting the financing section of our website: www.tre.org.au/financing and click “Register Now”.

What can I expect from the business financing process?
After you Register Your Interest a Thrive staff member will get in touch with you within 48 working hours and set up an appointment. In the meeting, depending on your business stage and business type, a relevant explanation of the process will be provided to you.
Why do I need a Guarantor?
People on bridging visas need guarantors because the duration of their visa may expire and they may be deported during the financing repayment period.
Who needs a Guarantor?

We don’t offer personal financing because Thrive aims to assist refugees and asylum seekers who wish to be self-employed/start their own businesses and support their entrepreneurial efforts.
Can I get financing to pay for my studies?

Why did my financing application get declined?
Financing may be declined for many reasons. For example, if you have a poor credit history or if you are unable to find a guarantor (if required). These are not the only reasons. As every business and application is different, there may other reasons why you do not meet the eligibility requirements.
